70.3 Mallorca 2018

70.3 Mallorca

I decided to return to Mallorca again as I knew the course and area well having been out there several weeks training.

It is without a doubt one of my favourite races.

I love the swim, the bike is scenic and the run is lined with spectators. I also love it because my parents come out to support.

The swim this year was slightly different to the previous year and the water quality was better. I enjoyed the swim and managed to find a good space throughout.

The bike was hot and this year I didn’t have a mechanical and was happy to take some minutes off the bike leg of the triathlon. I did enjoy this course particularly the last section which is flat back into Alcudia.

The heat really made the run tough, but I kept going and did what I could. Was super to have my mum and dad cheering me and to see them when I came down the finishing chute.

I was happy with 5th here this year, knowing I had given all I had out there and also knowing it is the biggest 70,3 in the world with over 3.5k competitors. The picture of the start line says it all!
